If I type 'attach Geofft', then Athena 9 is convinced that 'attach geofft'
cannot also succeed because there's already a Geofft at /mit/geofft, and
logs me in with a temporary home directory. It shouldn't be possible for
another user to prevent me from fully logging in this way...
