That is correct.  This is so that the use of the browser can be tracked.
Names are not really necessary, except so that we can distinguish the
unique number of users that use it.

It is not documented.  There is no man page yet, although I have written
one that should be in the next release.

Are you equally offended that the number of unique logins is tracked
also?  Kerberos can give this information easily, and I know that it has
been done in the past.  The mail to carla is an attempt to give us the
same sort of information that kerberos gives.

Why is this a bug?  It works perfectly well...  I don't understand why
you sent it to "bugs"...
