I updated earlgrey (a Linux workstation) from 9.4.22 to 9.4.26 and now
afs seems to be broken on it. There's nothing custom about the kernel,
and the libafs module loaded. Nothing appears under /afs, and I get a
temporary homedir when logging in. The only useful clue that I could
find was this:
earlgrey.mit.edu# /etc/init.d/openafs stop
Stopping AFS services.....=20
umount: /afs: not mounted
ERROR: Module libafs is in use
earlgrey.mit.edu# /etc/init.d/openafs start
Warning: AFS cache partition already mounted at init time.
Failed to load AFS client, not starting AFS services.
The machines network interfaces are definitely up, so that can't be the
problem either.
