It is within the current full release. It's intended that you have to
type something like "update_ws 9.4" to update to a different full

Odd. You may have experienced some of kind of corruption
of /afs/dev.mit.edu/system/rhlinux/rhel-4-updates/RPMS/perl-5.8.5-12.1.i386.rpm en route to your machine.
What is the output of md5sum on this file for you? (It's
54b5fa19cb57d751ab97f6af23aaa2c8 for me.) You might try running "fs
flush" on the file as a way of resolving the problem.
