I maintain sapgui but not tmsim. First off, I can't reproduce your problem. I
tried running "athrun sapgui saplogon" multiple times (on 2 different Linux
9.4.18 machines) and it worked fine each time.
I then modified the saplogon script to allow the user to pick a Java
version on Linux machines by setting the PLATIN_JAVA_VER environment
variable in the launch shell to the desired Java version, i.e. like
1.4.0_01 or whatever). The default if this is unset is still 1.4.2_03.
You can use this to try to see if another version works better for you- I
don't think I can do much more...
My experience: only 1.4 versions work at all- other Java versions
cause various errors; and in some cases (but not 1.4 ones), I was logged
out as you describe.
