System name: bx3.csail.mit.edu
Type and version:	i686 9.4.15 (with mkserv)
Display type: ATI Technologies Inc Rage 128 Pro Ultra TF

Shell: /bin/athena/bash
Window manager: sawfish

What were you trying to do?
reboot. keystrokes were ^P (to shut down X) followed by C-A-delete

What's wrong:
In the shutdown sequence, it gets stuck at
umount2: Device or resource busy
umount: /usr/vice/cache: device is busy

I waited 20 minutes but it never progresses. I force shut it off with
the power button. On reboot, it reports (of course) that the system was
shut down uncleanly and gives as an option of fscking the hard drives.

What should have happened:
shutdown cleanly

Please describe any relevant documentation references:

This is not a consistently replicable problem. However I have
occasionally seen other Athena workstations in clusters stuck at the
umount.
