I just updated from 9.3.18 to 9.4.15 and noticed that during
bootup the system complains about the lack of /dev/cpu/microcode.
Indeed, there's not even a /dev/cpu on the machine.
On my FC3 machine there's no /dev/cpu/microcode but there is a
/dev/cpu/0/microcode.
