What were you trying to do?
look up address for ted-williams
What's wrong:
too many messages:
% host tw
tw.MIT.EDU is an alias for TED-WILLIAMS.MIT.EDU.
TED-WILLIAMS.MIT.EDU has address 18.7.14.134
tw.MIT.EDU is an alias for TED-WILLIAMS.MIT.EDU.
tw.MIT.EDU is an alias for TED-WILLIAMS.MIT.EDU.
%
I assume three types of queries are made, and "is an alias" is printed
every time whether or not there's any data found.
What should have happened:
"is an alias" should be printed only once, probably. (Though
for maximum paranoia, the canonical name should probably be
the one looked up for the multiple queries, just in the
unlikely case that the cache data changes faster than the
program runs.)
