Here's another reproduceable crash, submitted by OLC user ckemp:
  X = rand(2,1);
  X*X'

There's also another complaint about scripts crashing matlab, which
I would guess to be both related, and not worth delving into.

I think we're going to need to offer a workaround, (at least if this is
still a problem when term starts).  Do you have a better one than
matlab -ver 6.5.1 (which does work)?

It's a bash/tcsh difference, and not terribly relevant.
