I'm sad about this, too; when I poked around, I concluded that there
was no evidence that building the modules against anything 2.6 that's
earlier than 2.6.12 was useful (but I failed to manage to build them and
check, there's just no success stories out there).

I'm holding out for redhat to ship a less useless kernel.
