What were you trying to do?
Use Swiss-PDB viewer from /mit/seven/bin/spdbv* Instead of running, I
recieved the message "/mit/seven/arch/i386_rhel3/bin/spdbv: line 7:
/mit/deepview/arch/i386_rhel3/bin/spdbv: No such file or directory".
What's wrong:
The deepview locker doesn't have a symlink for the current linux
release. BUT, more to the point, the script for spdbv in the seven
locker doesn't use the "add" command, which would intelligently fall
back to older compatible system releases (as listed by "machtype -C").
"add deepview; spdbv &" works.
What should have happened:
The Swiss-PDB viewer should have run, displaying a 3D molecule.
Please describe any relevant documentation references:
man attach
man machtype
man bash
more /mit/seven/bin/spdbv
more /mit/deepview/arch/i386_linux24/bin/spdbv (much better!)
Thanks,
Andrew Mendelson
