What were you trying to do?
Use Star Office/Open Office to edit/write a text document.

What's wrong:
The on-screen kerning for these two programs does not work at
all on Athena. On-screen, the programs display spaces between
letters that the user has not entered or do not display spaces
where the user has entered a space. This makes editing and
working on documents next to impossible.

What should have happened:
The on-screen kerning needs to work. I use Open Office at
home on my Fedora box and know that it works. I also know
that Star Office can work on some of the machines in the 002 lab.

Please describe any relevant documentation references:
	None.
