send email from mh-rmail
What's wrong:
mail messages remain in the workstation queue with
"Deferred: Temporary AUTH failure". Tickets for
smtp/hostname are never obtained but the machine does
attempt to use authentication.
What should have happened:
You can guess, I'm sure ;-)
Please describe any relevant documentation references:
Jonathon and I poked at this for a while. It appears
not to correlate to my username or the release version
number; Jonathon's test id fails under the same conditions
as mine does. It does not appear to correlate to my
customizations; logging in without customizations yields
the same results. It does appear to correlate to the partition
change on the suns. It happens on paddington (multiple
partition) but not on an ultra5 in the test cluster with
the newer partition scheme. The problem doesn't happen on
athena linux boxes.
