I did a quick test, creating a folder "foo.bar" (where "foo" did not
previously exist). While I could not then select "foo" in the Folders
list, I could use '>' ("View Dir") to descend into "bar". Since "foo"
does not actually exist on the IMAP server as a selectable mailbox,
this is probably not a bug, though it is certainly confusing.
