Hi,
I have four or five private Linux Athena boxes that seem to have hung on
the update from 9.2.16 to 9.2.20. Basically they started it last night and
seem to have gotten almost all the way through, and then just stopped.
I can get in remotely as root, and was able to get one machine up and
running by removing the last line of /etc/athena/versions, rebooting, and
running update_ws remotely from a root shell. (This was done for
Evil-Demon.mit.edu.)
I can do this for the other hosts, but before I did I wanted to let you
know and give you the opportunity to ask questions or look at the box and
the hung process.
Please let me know if you want to get on the system to look around. I can
problably leave the system in its current state until sometime on Thursday
25-Sep-2003.
