What were you trying to do?
Log into a newly installed machine replacing my old workstation. The machine
was installed around 2pm today via network install.
What's wrong:
Gnome panels are missing. The window manager isn't running. Keys don't
autorepeat. The console has a variety of error messages about
"GdkPixbuf-WARNING **: Can not open pixbuf loader module file..."
The first missing file is reported as /etc/athena/gtk-2.0/gdk-pixbuf.loaders.
The directory /etc/athena/gtk-2.0 is not present on this machine.
In addition to this, I now find that my screen configuration has
completely changed when I log into other machines- there are no gnome
panels or menus at the bottom of the screen. There is a thin strip at
the top of the screen with some gnome menus, but they are different
from the usual ones.
Please have someone get back to me as soon as possible on this- this is
my primary workstation and it's essentially unusable until I can get this
fixed.
