From the strace outputs, this is likely the same problem I found
earlier on another machine -- the presence of the component registry
file /usr/athena/lib/mozilla/components/compreg.dat for the previous
release of mozilla. The workaround is to get rid of this file (as
root). I will work on a proper fix for the next patch release.
