Contrary to what I said in my earlier response, we were not able to use
the our build of gtk 1 in our build of mozilla for Solaris. This is
because we had to build mozilla with the native compiler (to make it
compatible with Sun's Java plugin) and that rendered it incompatible
with the gcc-built gtk. (Although it's possible that simply linking in
libgcc might have worked for that. Not sure.)

So we can either build another copy of our gtk sources with the native
compiler, investigate linking against the gcc-built gtk using libgcc,
binary-patch Sun's libgdk as you suggest, or do nothing. I think other
twm users have complained of the same problem, so "do nothing" is less
of a viable option than I previously thought. I'll get back to you when
we figure out which pants to wear on this issue.
