Thanks for reporting this. Unfortunately, I don't think the error
message can easily be suppressed except by providing the RENDER
extension on Solaris. We expect that to be possible some time in the
next few months when Sun comes out with patches to more of their video
drivers to support 32-bit pixmaps, but in the meantime, it will have to
be ugly this way.
If you use the "prompt" launcher from the panel at the bottom of the
screen, you won't see an error message. (Not because the error message
isn't generated, but because the panel program generates so many other
useless error messages that we've suppressed all of them. We don't
really want to do that with sawfish, since it usually only generates
error messages when they're important.)
