What were you trying to do?
I am trying to run matlab remotely from an athena workstation. This is a
private athena workstation.
Client is a linux box running redhat 7.3/ redhat 9
What's wrong:
matlab does not run with X. I am using ssh to forward X11. Other
X-Window programs like maple run without problems. Matlab shows the
xterm and the splash screen and then hangs. The -nojvm or -nosplash
options don't make any difference.
What should have happened:
The matlab terminal should have shown the matlab prompt and the splash
screen should have gone away
Please describe any relevant documentation references:
None that I know of, matlab online technical support does not seem to
know about this problem. I have a question pending in olc for sometime
now, no one has replied yet. The only suggestion there was to use matlab
5.3.1 which works, when athena is able to find the locker and attach it.
6.1 and 6.5 do not work
