If /usr/ucb/compress isn't on a machine when newsyslog fires off at
3:05am, the log files don't get compressed, and the error messages seem
to go into the bitbucket.
compress, uncompress and zcat (which are the same file) should be on the
list of programs in standalone servers. The current
/paris/source/servers/usr_rvd doesn't have them there.
