Garry,

Thanks very much!

I just had a phone conversation with Herb Sawin, the faculty member who
originally sent the complaint. It turns out that he's able to reproduce
some of the problems on his PC on Windows!

So I suggest we hold off the manipulations on the MATLAB locker for now.
I'm suspecting the network is not the main cause of the problems (even
though it needs upgrading). Rather, I think the problems have to do with
the programming constructs they're using and some possible internal MATLAB
bugs. This would explain why the problems didn't occur last fall (the
homeworks were different) and why the other class (in ocean engineering)
that is using MATLAB in 1-115 this spring is not seeing any of these
problems (I suppose they're not using the same programming constructs).

I'm going to meet with the class this afternoon and the prof will show me
his problems on his PC. I will report back later...

Thanks,

Daniel
