We (the OLCs) were discussing the xss modules in a recent OLC
meeting. The following idea came up:
Wouldn't it be simpler to have one simple xss module that does
something easy (and non-offensive to the X server) like bounce the
Athena owl around the screen or something (similar to the way an
empty Athena machine looks)? xss could be configured to run that
module and only that module by default. If a given user wanted to
run the others, they would be there, but that way all default xss
installations would be damned hard to break. Seems to me we've have
several problems with xss modules on the Suns, and this would
eliminate any future problems....
I know I'll get flamed for this....
