On later checking, it seemed that if I very deliberately click on the link,
then drag slowly, then let go, it works. But my habit is to
click-drag-release, and that failed three or four times in a row (restarting
mozilla each time).
Of course, now I'm trying to reproduce it and I can't. Weird.
