What were you trying to do?
Run GNU Emacs 21 in text mode with a color-supporting TERM
(e.g, screen, xterm).
What's wrong:
Text that should be colored typically comes out as black (my
background color).
What should have happened:
Emacs should have emitted the correct escape sequences to
change colors.
Please describe any relevant documentation references:
Um, curs_color(3CURSES)?
Any other useful information:
Running emacs with TERM set to vt220 works around the problem.
I do not see this lossage on a non-Athena Sun I have access
to; from ldd output, I suspect it may be using a static copy
of ncurses rather than Solaris curses, though either *ought*
to be able to work.
