What were you trying to do?
bring back the screen after it had been in screensaver mode for a
while (probably more than 15 minutes)

What's wrong:
the screen is frozen - won't respond to keyboard or mouse. I had to
reboot the machine. This has happened repeatedly with 9.1. Did not
        happen before.

IMPORTANT (?) DETAIL: It seems to freeze with the same specific
screensaver graphic running, and stops more or less in the same place
(it seemed to me). It's the graphic loop with the hexagons that form
        soccer-ball-like patterns.

DUMB THEORIES: There's something getting stuck with that screensaver
graphic? Alternative: the general screensaver timeout wedges after a
certain point, and it's only coincidental that I've seen it stop on
the same screensaver? Anopther thought: it isn't cycling through the
graphics properly, but hangs when it should turn to a new random
        graphic?

What should have happened:
should have popped up the screensaver dialog box asking for my
        password.
