hi. if you run "emacs -q -no-site-file" on a linux-athena 9.0 machine,
the none of the directories in "Info-default-directory-list" contain a
"dir" file. as a result, the command "M-x info" fails. strangely, this
file does exist on solaris athena 9.0 (in /usr/athena/info/dir). i'm
not sure why this file is getting dropped on linux, but it's breaking
emacs' documentation system.
