       Hi,

Matt Power has apparently encountered this before, and was kind
enough to write up these instructions for using lynx with certs with the
new ca.mit.edu pages. The section that begins "If you do nothing, this
page will remain forever." should be of interest to you.

athena% add infoagents
athena% lynx https://ca.mit.edu/

There will be a message similar to:

  CA.MIT.EDU cookie: JServSessionId=3e89a7553eab8d3a.6341.995543617161 Allow? (Y/N/Always/neVer)

Make a note of this numerical value (e.g.,
3e89a7553eab8d3a.6341.995543617161) since you will need it later, then
type 'a'.

On the "Identify yourself" page, enter your username, password, and ID
number; then select Submit.

On the "Generate a private key" page, select Next, then wait for the
following prompt (it may take a minute or so to appear):

Please enter your Lynx certificate pass phrase:

At this prompt, press return. There will sometimes be a second prompt:

Please enter that again to confirm:

Again, press return.

On the "You have reached the Key Generation Page" page, select "submit
this request".

The next page will say:

Please standby while your certificate is created
   Clock Image

If you do nothing, this page will remain forever. Instead, wait a
minute and then quit lynx by typing 'q' and then 'y'.

Now, insert the saved value after the '?' in the command line:

  lynx 'https://ca.mit.edu/cgi-bin/ngetcert?'

In the above example, the command line would become:

  lynx 'https://ca.mit.edu/cgi-bin/ngetcert?3e89a7553eab8d3a.6341.995543617161'

The first prompt will be

Please enter your Lynx certificate pass phrase:

Press return.

The second prompt will be of the form:

Please give this certificate a nick name: Your Name's Personal Certificate

Again, press return. You will get the message:

lynx: Start file could not be found or is not text/html or text/plain
        Exiting...

This means that the procedure has completed successfully.
