What were you trying to do?
Various users trying to login on this and some other cluster
machines got temporary homedirectories. This turns out to be becase
afs is nonexistant:
athena (temporary homedir)% mount
/dev/hda7 on / type ext2 (rw)
none on /proc type proc (rw)
/dev/hda1 on /boot type ext2 (rw)
/dev/hda6 on /usr/vice/cache type ext2 (rw)
none on /dev/pts type devpts (rw,gid=5,mode=620)
athena (temporary homedir)% ls /afs
athena (temporary homedir)% lsmod
Module Size Used by
i810_audio 13872 0 (autoclean)
ac97_codec 8576 0 (autoclean) [i810_audio]
soundcore 3600 2 (autoclean) [i810_audio]
parport 24512 0
libafs-2.4.3-12.i686 375344 0
3c59x 24352 1 (autoclean)
athena (temporary homedir)% fs checks -fast -all
All servers are running.
Rebooting fixes the problem.
I'm going to leave this machine (-10) in it's current broken state
so that someone can come look at it if desired.
