I'll elaborate on Aaron's response a bit.

When you minimize a window in sawfish, you should see it appear in the
tasklist in the panel at the bottom of the screen, just as in MS
Windows. If you do not have a tasklist, this may be because the
tasklist applet crashed at some time in the past--a bug we have been
unable to track down. (In the next patch release, when this happens a
dialog will pop up and the user will be given an option to restart the
applet; we'd still rather it didn't crash, of course, but this is
better than having the tasklist randomly disappear.) You can create a
new tasklist applet for yourself by right-clicking on the panel and
selecting Add to Panel -> Applet -> Utility -> Tasklist.
