I can't reproduce the problem myself, but there's two questions in the
OLC queue involving matlab seeming very slow on private linux
workstations.
Also, sly reports users of the machines in her lab have similar
problems with matlab, especially (only?) when there's more than one
user running matlab on the machine. Her report, along with that of one
of the olc users (the other is less specific) describes a delay after a
command is issued from within matlab, but the command completing
normally once it starts.
The OLC questions are still in the pending queue, so I can't cite
discuss transactions, but the questions are both topic 'matlab' and
were asked on 04/02 and 04/05.
