Hello,
We recently upgraded the network switches serving the 1-142 cluster.
Any workstations with a 10/100 Ethernet card should be able to
connect to MITnet at 100Mb/s. I tried rebooting one of them to
see if it would happen automatically, but it seemed to still
be talking to the network at 10Mb/s. (It was an Ultra 10,
m1-142-24.mit.edu.) Seem like the workstations might need
some software tweaking in order to take advantage of the higher
speed.
(Caveat: I'm not very clueful about Sun's, so I might have
this wrong.)
