All Sun machines are getting the latter two errors - about not being able
to load Java because of a missing library - and I am looking into the
problem right now; it should be okay tomorrow.
However, you're the first case I've heard of someone getting that message
about not being able to create preferences.js; I didn't get that one. If
you don't have a preferences.js when Netscape expects one, you could very
well have a problem saving preference changes (mine save with no problem).
The temporary fix is to get yourself a fresh preferences.js:
add infoagents
cp /mit/infoagents/share/Netscape/4.75/preferences.js ~/.netscape/
The REAL fix is to solve the other problem, which should solve your
problem in the bargain. Stay tuned.
