We've encountered this annoyance before and unfortunately it comes from the
distill binary (as you no doubt have figured out) so there's nothing we
can practically do about it; at least a pdf file does get printed
even if you can't select an option.
In any case the issue has been superseded in FrameMaker 6, which has been
around for some time- you don't get this verbiage in the new version of
distill. To use it now: "add frame; maker -ver 6.0.0"; it will become the
default during IAP.
They still don't have it quite right because it prints a message:
[PDFSize] Warning: Cannot save client settings.
but this is irrelevant and can safely be ignored.
