The nmh configuration in Athena 8.4 does not recognize messages in
application/pgp format. Such messages should be recognized and
displayed as text, as this is the traditional way of denoting a PGP
signed or encrypted ascii-armored message.
This is extraordinarily annoying to users of, for example, mutt, which
can either send PGP messages as application/pgp (breaking Athena mh
users' ability to read the message) or the newer PGP/MIME (which does
not work with mail clients such as Eudora Pro). Sending PGP messages
as message/rfc822 or text/plain is obviously unacceptable, as it would
be an inappropriate MIME type for the message.
It is possible to make mh recognize application/pgp messages as text
with minor configuration changes. I'm sure such changes would be
greatly appreciated.
