Linux doesn't support crash dumps; the kernel attempts to recover from
minor errors, and when it encounters a major error the attitude is
"we're too scrod to be sure we'd write to a useful place."
(Dumping post-reboot wouldn't work either, because the BIOS clears
all of memory.)
