Netscape-movemail is problematic, yes. I would go with the "avoid using it
for MIT mail" advice for now. (POP mail works great.) There are future
developments coming which may change all of this and replace it with
something better - we're aware that there's a substantial demand for the
ability to check MIT mail via Netscape.
