Believe it or not, I have never noticed the former behavior! I wonder why
it asks you for a registration. I've been testing the thing for a while
and haven't seen it. I bet I have some file somewhere that makes it think
it's already done so. I'll see if I can trick it into mimicking my
behavior for everyone else :)

I'll deal with the other problem when I make the next round of config
changes, including that ghostview problem.
