i have a data analysis tool that requires an 8-bit display to run.
on the sun machines, there is an option in the login screen (under
other options) to restart x in 8-bit mode. this is not present as an
option on the linux login screen. it is really important to me for my
research, although the simple work around is to use sun machines
instead of linux.
if there is another work around that allows me to use this program under
linux, please let me know.
