I assume the third is actually complaining about /etc/conf.modules?

The first is a fixed bug; I haven't done the release yet.
The second is harmless, of course.
The last is harmless as well; the file it is creating doesn't exist
  yet, so a grep is failing, and should fail.  

This is on a cluster-type workstation, not one of the new ones, right?

Can you mail me the contents of /etc/conf.modules so I can be sure all
is ok?
