Hi.  Unfortunately, I don't think we know what causes this problem,
and looking at a machine after it loses its group file isn't very
informative.  Public workstations restore their group file from /srvd
at boot time, so it's most likely not a problem with unclean
shutdowns.

What we can do is make public workstations restore their group files
from /srvd at reactivate time, which they do not appear to do now.
I'll make that happen at least for 8.4.
