Ok, it's been almost a month, and I never even got a response about this.
Why hasn't anything been done? Do I have the *only* 8.2 IRIX machine
out there? Even then, isn't it worth the small effort to apply the
fix now that I've gone to the trouble to diagnose it?
While you're at it, the link to acroread is broken as well. I'd like
to be able to invoke it from the acro locker as of old, instead of
mumble-foo /mit/acro_v3.0/arch/@sys/bin/acroread.
