In the last couple of weeks, there has been a sudden rise in the number
of bounced e-mails showing up in my mailbox. These messages were originally
sent to a mailing list (e.g., dusp, tsg) and then bounce because one or
more of the recipients is invalid. These lists have large numbers of
recipients, some of whom may be outside MIT. The problem is that the
mail bounces back to the LIST and not the SENDER. Until recently, these
bounced messages didn't show up. Now, I effectively get a duplicate of
every message sent to these lists. Is it possible that the new Athena
release has led to this change in behavior?
