This is a checksum related bug. I don't remember much else about it,
and it seems clear to me that I must have known about it given some
back part of my brain said "use -x"!, but I don't remember why.
Perhaps because Solaris mucks with the way it deals with checksums under
2.5.1 vs 2.6 in the raw sockets interface?
Use -x for a workaround.
If there's anyone left at LBL someone should see about reporting it to them
if it's not a build error.
