Unless athena has been having some pretty nasty network problems
on the server subnet, I don't think mine and vadim's problem are
similar (aside from the symptoms). zwrite lives in /usr/athena/bin
and my path (from the beginning to that point) is:
athena% echo $PATH
/afs/athena.mit.edu/user/s/l/sly/sun4bin:/srvd/patch:/usr/athena/bin:
I don't actually run zwrite with ping, I use it as zwrite -n
But since there were no changes in the binaries in the last release,
perhaps it is some sort of network level problem. Or the machine's
dying (which would be rather unfortunate).
