i am going to be a first year at sloan starting in september, and i've been
having difficulty setting up my eudora access from home. when i try to
check for new messages on eudora, i get a wshelper error. virginia gifford
took a look at my setup and networking properties and believes that i am
having difficulties because my computer is running off of windows 98 rather
than windows 95. the exact error, when i click on check mail, reads as
follows:
WS Helper Error!
! The network is not set up correctly.
No reliable information about the local
domain or the name servers has been found.
However, you should still able [sic] to resolve fully
qualified machine names. Please see

Do you want to continue?
Yes No
(that web address pulls up a fatal error. i think the proper address
should be the following:
http://web.mit.edu/dosathena/doc/www/wshelper/wshelper.html)
at the error box, if i click yes, i get another box asking for my id and
password. once i enter my id and password, eudora works fine for both
sending and receiving messages. if i click no, eudora gets and error and
just exits itself.
if the problem is windows 98, is there any way i can fix the problem
without resorting to installing windows 95?
thanks,
