Hi Tara,
Your question about this wound up with me- I installed Alias on Athena
a couple of years ago but not recently- this has been passed on to Tom
Fitzgerald in Architecture (tfitz@mit.edu).
As far as I am aware from my limited experience with Alias, things run
off the main GUI which is invoked by doing "add imagery5; run-alias",
as mbarker suggested previously. Do you have reason to believe that
you should be able to run a separate "render" command from the command
line? Under normal circumstances, we install things on Athena so that
the only things you should be running directly are in the top level
locker bin dir- in this case, /mit/imagery5/arch/sgi_53/bin.
It might be the case that "renderer" is not intended to be run
directly, but rather by another script or the main GUI, so trying to
invoke it directly might fail. It's also possible that it is intended
to be run directly but that our installation hasn't been configured to
allow it- you would have to check with Tom about that. I hope this
helps,
