What were you trying to do?
Use Kermit on my Sparc5
What's wrong:
Get strange error message about lacking access to /var/spool/locks
and that line is not set even when using -l on the command line. e.g.
rar(7:57am)% kermit -l /dev/term/a -b 19200
Sorry, can't open connection: No such file or directory
/dev/tty00: ?Sorry, you must 'set line' first
/var/spool/locks: Permission denied
?can't open device
Since it is a lacking permission, I went into su mode. This time I got:

Note that although it said I must 'set line" first, the /dev/term/a was
already set as displayed when I did the set speed comment.
What should have happened:
Should have just given me the command prompt from Kermit.
