Hi. ping was disabled on the dialups this fall, because we were having
problems with users having their passwords captured by hackers, who
would then use machines to launch `ping floods' against other
machines. We disabled ping to stop them from being able to do this.
We're upgrading the dialups currently, and when they're all upgrade,
ping will work again (although without certain options).
