8.1 sun and sgi xlogin olh not working

On an 8.1 Sun or SGI, when I selected "Athena On-Line Help (olh)" from
the xlogin menu, I saw a window appear for about 1 second with an
error message stating something like "aklog: Couldn't get AFS tickets:
you have no tickets cached", then the window disappeared and the
main xlogin screen reappeared. In other words, I could not find a way
to access the Athena On-Line Help without logging in. This was
possible prior to 8.1, and I believe it should be made to work again.
